Role Purpose:

The Director of Exploration Planning and Resource Reporting provides strategic and technical leadership across the companyโ€™s exploration portfolio. The role ensures that exploration programs are effectively planned, executed, and aligned with corporate growth objectives, while maintaining the highest standards of resource estimation, reporting, and compliance with international codes such as JORC, NI 43-101, or equivalent.

This position is pivotal in guiding project prioritization, resource growth strategy, and technical governance to support sustainable value creation through discovery and development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Strategic Planning

  • Lead geological data management, target generation, and resource modelling activities.
  • Oversee the preparation of exploration budgets, plans, and performance dashboards.
  • Ensure compliance with JORC, NI 43-101, or other relevant international reporting standards.
  • Supervise the estimation, classification, and validation of mineral resources.
  • Integrate geological and geophysical datasets into strategic project development planning.

B.ย Exploration Program Management

  • Develop standardized planning tools, budget frameworks, and KPI systems for exploration activities.
  • Oversee planning and monitoring of exploration programs, including geophysical, geochemical surveys, drilling, mapping, trenching, and other technology driven programs.
  • Ensure robust QA/QC programs and data integrity across all projects.
  • Lead technical reviews and peer assessments for consistency and quality assurance.

C. Resource Estimation & Reporting

  • Provide leadership in resource modelling and estimation workflows.
  • Ensure Mineral Resource and Reserve statements comply with recognized reporting codes (JORC, NI 43-101, SAMREC).
  • Implement corporate governance standards for estimation, validation, and sign-off.
  • Liaise with Qualified Persons (QPs) and Competent Persons (CPs) during studies, audits, and reviews.

D. Technical Governance & Capacity Building

  • Establish best practices in exploration data management and geostatistical analysis.
  • Mentor and develop internal teams to build technical capacity and expertise.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, software, and methodologies.

Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Earth Sciences.
  • Masterโ€™s preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in mineral exploration, resource estimation, and reporting.
  • Proven leadership of multi-project exploration portfolios.
  • Strong record in discovery, definition, and reporting of mineral resources.
  • Deep understanding of JORC / NI 43-101 / SAMREC and feasibility study processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Membership in a recognized professional organization (e.g., AusIMM, AIG, PGO, ECSA) is an advantage
