Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Field Maintenance Superintendent to manage and lead all maintenance operations for our Workover Rig fleet in Oman. The Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency. This is a demanding field-based role that requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance Management: Supervise, plan, and execute all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance and repair activities for workover rig equipment (e.g., Drawworks, Top Drives, Power Units, Mud Pumps, Pressure Control Equipment, etc.).
• Preventative Maintenance: Develop, implement, and rigorously manage comprehensive Preventative Maintenance System (PMS) schedules to minimize equipment failure and unplanned downtime.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of Maintenance Technicians and Mechanics, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshooting: Expertly diagnose complex mechanical and system malfunctions and oversee timely, effective repairs.
• HSE Compliance: Ensure all maintenance operations strictly adhere to company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, industry best practices, and relevant Omani regulations.
• Inventory & Budget: Manage the inventory of critical spare parts, oversee procurement, and ensure maintenance activities are conducted within budget.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work, spare parts usage, and equipment performance for management reporting.

Requirements

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in maintenance within the Oil & Gas industry, with a substantial portion dedicated to Workover or Drilling Rigs.
• Supervisory Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role (e.g., Superintendent, Supervisor, Chief Mechanic).
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of workover rig equipment, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, power generation, and control systems.
• HSE Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., HSE training, Rigging and Lifting).
• Personal Skills: Strong English communication (written and verbal), excellent problem-solving ability, and capable of making critical decisions under pressure.
