Position Summary
The Polymerization Operator is responsible for executing the polymerization process, including raw material transfer, nitrogen charging, initiator addition, reactor temperature control, and process monitoring. The role ensures that polymerization reactions proceed safely, smoothly, and within required quality parameters.
Main Responsibilities
- Confirm nitrogen purity ≥ 99.99% before charging; maintain communication with the Air Compressor Station to ensure stable nitrogen supply.
- Control nitrogen flow rate strictly according to process requirements; continuously monitor flow changes during nitrogen charging to ensure uniform material mixing and maintain product quality (molecular weight, viscosity).
- Prepare and add initiators accurately according to process requirements; ensure sequential addition and flush each initiator feed point with 2 kg of pure water to prevent unintended reactions.
- Operate the polymerization reactor according to correct valve opening and closing sequence to prevent backflow, pipeline blockage, and production abnormalities.
- Control empty reactor temperature within specified limits before feeding; cool promptly with chilled water to prevent negative effects on polymerization and product quality stability.
- Wear always required PPE to ensure safety.
- Maintain accurate and complete operation records and conduct proper shift handover.
- Complete other duties assigned by department leadership.
