The position plays a key role in the Procure to Pay process and supports the oilfield operations for Kuwait. The position is responsible for timely processing of purchase requisitions, selecting vendors & suppliers, negotiate pricing & delivery schedules, timely execution of purchase orders to ensure timely delivery, quality and best value pricing of products & services required for the oilfield service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receives, examines and processes requisitions, prepares RFQ/bid specifications and other necessary documents related to the purchase of complex technical and non-technical material & service requirements.
- Sourcing out vendors for specific requirement or scope of work as required in the purchase requisition.
- Evaluate and analyze vendor quotes, carryout negotiations in order to achieve best overall value with terms & conditions to ensure timely delivery, firm pricing, desired quality levels.
- Prepare technical evaluations (if required) for Operations/Maintenance, Subject Matter Expert (SME) review and approval.
- Issuance of Purchase Orders, communicating POs to suppliers, receiving acknowledgements, and performing PO maintenance as needed.
- Keep updated on vendor deliveries and adherence to the PO terms.
- Maintains records on purchase price information on both open market and contract purchases and revise as per the market & demand conditions changes.
- Provide periodic updates to Management, Materials Department, User Dept at assigned on the Purchase order issuance and any order amendments.
- Participate in the periodic vendor performance review meetings to evaluate their performance, responsiveness, and terms of delivery as part of a vendor management process.
- Contribute effectively to the Annual Operating Plan goals: productivity, lead time reductions & cost savings.
- Continuously guide and co-operate with the team members to achieve optimum productivity levels.
- Carry out other supply chain-related jobs that are assigned by the management.
Minimum Academic/ Professional Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited University (Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical or any relevant technical discipline preferred). This may be relaxed if the candidate has more experience in Drilling services procurement.
Minimum Work Experience:
- Working experience of 8-10 Years with at least 5 years in Procurement & Contracting in any Drilling Company.
- ERP Experience (Oracle, SAP etc) required.
Regional work experience within MENA preferred.
