Key Responsibilities:

  1. Medical Care:
    • Provide first aid and medical treatment to rig personnel.
    • Manage medical emergencies and trauma care until evacuation or further medical support arrives.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
    • Maintain up-to-date medical records for all personnel on board.
  2. Health & Safety:
    • Conduct regular health and hygiene inspections.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and protocols.
    • Promote health and safety awareness among rig personnel.
  3. Emergency Response:
    • Coordinate and execute emergency medical response plans.
    • Conduct drills and training sessions on emergency medical procedures.
    • Ensure the availability and maintenance of emergency medical equipment and supplies.
  4. Health Monitoring:
    • Monitor the health status of all personnel, identifying and addressing any potential health risks.
    • Conduct regular health screenings and fitness-for-duty evaluations.
  5. Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
    • Prepare and submit medical reports and documentation as required.
    • Ensure all medical supplies and medications are stocked, stored, and accounted for.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Rig Medic in the oilfield services industry.
    • Proven experience in managing medical emergencies in remote locations.
  • Education & Certifications:
    • Certified as a Registered Nurse (RN) or equivalent medical qualification.
    • Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or equivalent.
    • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures and trauma care.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
    • Proficiency in maintaining medical records and reporting.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Previous experience working in remote and challenging environments.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multicultural team.
