Full-time A leading organization in the energy sector is conducting a search for an experienced Chief Rig Mechanic to support its onshore drilling operations in the Sultanate of Oman. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of rig mechanical systems in a high-demand operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all mechanical maintenance activities on the drilling rig, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency
- Supervise, coach, and develop the rig mechanical crew
- Oversee inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of rig equipment (drawworks, mud pumps, engines, compressors, and auxiliary systems)
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, company policies, and industry best practices
- Coordinate with drilling and operations teams to support uninterrupted rig performance
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting
Requirements:
- Proven experience as Chief Rig Mechanic or Senior Rig Mechanic on drilling rigs
- Strong expertise in rig mechanical systems and preventive maintenance programs
- Demonstrated leadership capability in managing multicultural teams
- Solid understanding of HSE regulations within drilling environments
- Relevant technical certification or diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent
