Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor for Workover Rig is responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance activities of the workover rig. This includes ensuring all equipment is operating efficiently and safely, coordinating with other departments, and leading a team of maintenance personnel. The role requires a hands-on approach to maintenance tasks, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work in a challenging and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of all rig equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and train a team of maintenance technicians.
- Allocate tasks and monitor the performance of the maintenance team.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
- Equipment Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct regular inspections of rig equipment to identify potential issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures and malfunctions.
- Ensure timely and effective repairs to maintain operational efficiency.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Liaise with other departments, including drilling, operations, and safety, to ensure seamless coordination of maintenance activities.
- Maintain clear and concise communication with rig management and office support teams.
- Prepare and submit regular maintenance reports and documentation.
- Inventory and Spare Parts Management:
- Oversee the inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts and manage procurement as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of parts usage and inventory levels.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):
- Enforce compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety meetings and participate in HSE training and drills.
- Promote a safe working environment and promptly address any safety concerns.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- A diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance roles within the oil and gas industry, specifically on workover rigs.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Skills and Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of workover rig equipment and systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.
- Certifications:
- Valid certification in Rigging and Lifting (e.g., OPITO approved).
- HSE certifications relevant to the oil and gas industry.
- Physical and Other Requirements:
- Ability to work in remote and harsh environments.
- Physically fit to handle the demands of the job.
- Willingness to adhere to a 30 days on, 30 days off rotation schedule.
