Rig Electrician Featured

Purpose of Job:

Carry out electrical and air conditioning related scheduled services, preventive maintenance and break down maintenance at sites. This includes diagnosing, trouble shooting and repair of defects independently.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

• Technical: Diagnose and repair defects in a cost effective manner with minimum down time. Ensure the right parts are replaced and repeat repairs are not occurring. Should be able to diagnose defects independently. Consult the senior electrician/ Workshop Supervisor while making decisions to replace parts.
• Training: Train Omani / expat junior electrician on job. Monitor the work of Auto mechanic and extend assistance as an when required.
• Monitoring: Monitor the service progress and scheduled services completion as per the schedule.
• Quality assurance: The work is done as per the maintenance policy of the company, meets the PDO HSE requirements.
• Safety: Maintenance work has to be carried out in a safe operating condition and with the required training for each job. The vehicles are to be maintained in an optimum road worthiness condition. Active participation in the daily tool box talk, ensure that the company HSE policies are strictly adhered.

Minimum Academic/Professional Qualification:

• Diploma / Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering and technical experience. This may be waived in recognition of demonstrable proven experience in similar industrial environment.

Minimum Work Experience:

• Minimum 7 years in drilling and workover rigs

• Where applicable, further Driver training
• Emergency response training
• Driving license PDO and Hiab/ Heavy vehicle related training
• Ability to diagnose and repair and able to read parts catalogue and prepare parts list.
