The Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for power and water procurement operations. The role includes ensuring system reliability, optimizing performance, and supporting the implementation of engineering solutions that enhance operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Maintenance:
- Provide hands-on support for power and water procurement systems, ensuring their efficient and reliable operation.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to power generation, water desalination, and distribution systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment failures, control system malfunctions, and network communication issues.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce system downtime.
Engineering & Optimization:
- Assist in evaluating system performance and recommend technical improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Support the integration of new technologies and engineering solutions within existing power and water procurement infrastructure.
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to optimize asset utilization.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all technical activities comply with Omani regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
- Support risk assessments and implement corrective actions to enhance safety and reliability.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and compliance reports.
Stakeholder Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal departments, external vendors, and government regulatory bodies to ensure seamless technical operations.
- Provide technical support to procurement teams in evaluating vendors and suppliers for technical specifications.
- Assist in preparing technical reports and presentations for management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in technical support, maintenance, or engineering roles in the power, water, or utilities sector.
- Experience in troubleshooting power generation, desalination plants, or grid systems is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, and automated control systems is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with power and water infrastructure operations.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and control logic.
- Familiarity with Omani regulatory frameworks related to energy and water procurement.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
